How the photo is framed
The head (chin to crown) fills 70%–80% of the photo height and the eyes sit inside the shaded band. IDPhotos.ai crops to these limits automatically.
How to take it at home
- 1Stand about 50 cm in front of a plain, light wall with nothing behind you.
- 2Face a window or a soft light so both cheeks are evenly lit. Avoid overhead spotlights.
- 3Ask someone to take the photo from about 1–1.5 m away with the phone at eye level and straight. Selfies at arm's length can distort the face.
- 4Look straight at the camera with a neutral face and your mouth closed.
- 5Follow IDPhotos.ai's live guidance and keep still when it says ‘Hold still’.
